PRE-K ART
Pre-K 315 in art is busy mixing paint, gluing paper, painting papers, ripping, cutting, gluing textured fabrics, dabbing, rolling, taping, and drawing. In everything we do this year, art for Pre-K will be experiential as opposed to product oriented. Students will be exposed to as many different kinds of materials and processes as possible during their weekly visit to the Art Studio.
Throughout the year, art work will either come home right away, or be hanging outside the classroom. Feel free to write or stop by Room 311 with any questions or concerns!
Looking forward to meeting many of you soon!
Best, Judy Londa

Pre-K at MoMA!
On March 26th, the Pre-K class took a walking trip to The Museum of Modern Art.
Pre-K'ers looked at a 'shaped canvas' by the artist Elizabeth Murray, and had a chance to make their own art using collage materials. Thanks to Andrea for helping me to plan and organize this trip, and to Millie, Paulina and all of the parent volunteers who chaperoned!

Foam Collage Project
Students practiced cutting shapes out of foam paper. These shapes were then used in a collage, and were then painted with tempera cakes. These beautiful collages are now hanging outside of the Pre-K315 classroom!

Art Choice Time during Open School Week this past November!
During Art Choice Time, students choose between many different materials and methods including stencils, colored tape, pop-up collage papers, watercolor, tempera paint, paint dabbers and rollers, and more! During art choice-time, students can walk from table to table to make a mixed-media creation, or use the materials separately.
